David M. Wilke

Co-Managing Partner, CPA, MBA

David is the Founder and, as of 2022, Co-Managing Partner of Wilke & Associates, CPA and Small Business Advisors. His entire career has been dedicated to being an advocate for privately-held businesses and Certified Public Accounting. His skills have been proven in tax planning, business planning, and business consulting.

David earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance and his Master in Business Administration from Duquesne University. Since the founding of Wilke & Associates, David has grown the client base from 1 to over 2,000 clients and his staff has grown from 1 to over 40 employees.

David has been nominated as Entrepreneur of the Year and Accountant Advocate of the Year by the SBA. David currently serves on the Board of Light of Life Rescue Mission of Pittsburgh.

David, a Pittsburgh native, has dedicated his career solely to public accounting. David joined Wilke & Associates, LLP in August 2002 and was named partner in July 2005. Prior to joining Wilke & Associates, David spent nine years as a tax manager with another firm.

Some of David’s responsibilities include preparing and reviewing business and individual income tax returns, tax research, tax compliance, and tax planning. David’s primary client base consists primarily of real estate investors and clients who are invested in the oil, gas, and energy industry.

David earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Robert Morris University (College), majoring in Accounting.  David is heavily involved with ACRE of Pittsburgh, Inc., a local chapter of the National Real Estate Investors Association.

Peter Fleming

Peter E. Fleming

Co-Managing Partner & Lead Audit Partner, CPA, CFE

Peter has spent his accounting career working for and assisting small and large businesses, first in the private sector in CFO and Controller positions. Peter joined Wilke & Associates in 2005, made Partner in 2008, and in 2022 has been promoted to Co-Managing Partner.

As Co-Managing Partner, Peter will assist with all firm business and staff oversight. He will help manage the firm’s entire client portfolio and maintain direct client involvement.

As the lead Audit Partner, he concentrates on auditing, forensic and fraud accounting, income tax planning, business planning, and consulting services including software selection, entity selection, and buying and selling businesses. He assists many small and start-up businesses in obtaining financing and complying with regulatory agencies. Peter has been a witness on numerous fraud and forensic engagements and has provided extensive litigation support. In addition, Peter is a frequent speaker for compliance, tax, and other accounting or auditing matters.

He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

Maria Stromple

Maria D. Stromple

Partner, CPA, MST

Maria has more than 30 years of public accounting experience servicing closely-held businesses in manufacturing, real estate, wholesale distribution, transportation/logistics, insurance, and technology industries.

Her diversified experience includes federal and multi-state compliance and comprehensive strategic tax planning for businesses and individuals. Prior to joining Wilke & Associates, LLP in 2020, Maria was a Partner and Firm Wide Tax Director for Herbein + Company. She also spent 20 years at Schneider Downs and as a Tax Director, she led the high net worth individual and family office practice group.

Maria has participated in numerous acquisition and divestiture teams providing business owners with tax strategies for structuring transactions. Maria has assisted business owners in obtaining valuations and preparing purchase price allocations. She has worked closely with attorneys in evaluating tax matters and language for partnerships, equity awards, sales, and merger agreements.

Maria’s experience also includes working with executives regarding tax planning, executive compensation tax benefit planning and modeling implications for stock options, charitable gifting, and the execution of effective tax strategies.

Nichole Feller, Partner, Wilke & Associates

Nichole M. Feller

Partner, MS

Nichole M. Feller joined Wilke & Associates in May 2014 and was promoted to Partner in January 2022. Her background includes corporate accounting for manufacturing and equipment leasing. She is also co-owner of two businesses: Presto Beer Distributor and Presto Qwik Stop.

Nichole’s practice heavily focuses on business and technology advisory services to clients. She also guides them on best practices in automation, recordkeeping, planning, and growth. As part of this work, Nichole also advises her clients on tax minimization strategies and can serve as an outsourced CFO.

Nichole earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh and her Master of Science in Financial Forensics and Fraud Investigation from Carlow University. Outside of work, Nichole enjoys spending time with her family and friends and doting on her young daughter.

Omar K. Thrower, CPA, MST joined Wilke & Associates in August 2019 as a Tax Manager and was promoted to Partner in January 2022. He is responsible for providing tax planning and compliance services to businesses and their owners. He prepares and reviews partnership, corporation, and individual tax returns. He also assists clients with budgeting, cash flow, and general business planning.

Omar primarily works with the following businesses:

  • Real Estate Investors.

His favorite part about his job is helping clients solve their business and tax problems. He’s recognized as a proactive, diligent advisor. Omar knew he wanted to pursue tax and consulting as a career because he enjoys business and the opportunity to work with clients in a wide range of industries. He finds the work to be enjoyable and challenging, and there are always opportunities to grow and learn.

Omar earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University and his Master of Taxation from Robert Morris University. Outside of work, he enjoys walking, reading, and spending time with his wife and family. People might be surprised to learn that Omar likes to read biographies and watch movies based on real-life events.

Christopher J. Wenrich, CPA/ABV, Partner at Wilke & Associates

Christopher J. Wenrich

Partner, CPA/ABV

Christopher J. Wenrich, CPA/ABV leads Wilke & Associates’ valuation and mergers and acquisitions practice areas. He also provides due diligence services, succession planning, tax planning, forecasting, and financial analysis services to business clients in a range of industries. Prior to joining Wilke in 2016, Chris worked for a regional forensic accounting firm.

Chris knew that he wanted to pursue accounting and business advisory as a career early on. He had an aptitude for math and was just starting out during the 2008 financial crisis; Chris chose a career that would play to his strength with numbers while also providing different options for professional growth.

His favorite part of his job is helping clients achieve their goals when faced with challenging and complex issues. He also thoroughly enjoys counseling clients on how to grow their value.

Chris earned his Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) certification in 2018 to grow his valuation knowledge base for the benefit of his clients. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a Minor in Economics.

Outside of work, Chris can be found spending time with his family and friends, watching sports, being outdoors, and playing golf.
